Miniature creatures that look like mysterious little animals, animated toys or figures in children's drawings. They have white and round bodies with large snouts that make them resemble toy hippos. Being descendants of Scandinavian trolls, in the distant past they came from the forests into people's houses to become a kind of brownie and live behind the stoves; over time, when steam heating replaced stove heating almost everywhere, they had to look for other shelters.
